The Netherlands are yet to reveal names for their final squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026. They are placed in Group F along with the likes of Japan, Sweden and Tunisia.
During a recent interview with FIFA, head coach Ronald Koeman mentioned one important thing. He said even though the Oranje are not one of the favourites to win the mega competition, because of the capable players in the squad, they can take down any team competing in the World Cup.
“What I’d like people to say about my team is that they play with a lot of intensity and that they can’t say we didn’t do enough. I want them to play with confidence, with personality, understanding what their qualities are.
“And to always respect every opponent, despite the fact that there may be so-called smaller nations at the World Cup. They are all matches in their own right, and you must ensure you’re not caught off-guard by a smaller nation,” the 63-year-old said further.

When asked about Jurriën Timber’s possible timely return from injury, Ronald Koeman said, “He is trying to become available for the World Cup, but it’s NOT looking promising.”
Recently, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also mentioned the same thing. Timber’s inclusion in the squad for PSG vs Arsenal UEFA Champions League final is also looking highly unlikely.
Although the 26-man squad for the Netherlands has not been announced yet, Jurrien Timber might not be included in the final team for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The mega competition is all set to take place in Canada, Mexico and the USA. The tournament will begin on June 11, with the final set to take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.
