The LaLiga giants to host the English champions in second-leg tonight.
Kylian Mbappé and Brahim Diaz scored in the second half plus Jude Bellingham’s goal in injury time helped Real Madrid win 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium last Tuesday. Even though Erling Haaland scored twice, Manchester City were unable to escape defeat.
Real Madrid’s standing going into the match is hard to dispute. Given the variety of quality in their ranks, it is hardly unexpected that they played some outstanding attacking football last week. Pep Guardiola’s team will probably have to take chances at some point, which might make Real Madrid even more dangerous in this week’s final leg.
Real Madrid will have a goal and home advantage in tonight’s game. With the return of injured players, it will be a big boost for them, further increasing their chances of beating the English side.
It will also be a battle of many individual stars on the pitch who will be looking to prove their mettle and make an impact.
We anticipate a high-scoring match with a variety of individuals on the scoring sheet. Mbappé, who has 11 goals in 11 Real Madrid appearances in 2025, is in fine form.
Will Kylian Mbappe play tonight?
Mbappe is expected to be in the starting lineup tonight. The French forward will aim to find the back of the net as he did in the first leg. His goal aided the club in coming back from behind to seal a win at Etihad as they returned to the Spanish capital with a crucial win.
He will be at the forefront of Madrid’s offensive line. The player has significantly improved as the season has gone on. Moreover, the Frenchman has emerged as the team’s top goal scorer. The former PSG player’s skill in front of goal gives Real Madrid excellent attacking flair.
Their one-goal advantage can be counted as insufficient against the PL giants so Los Blancos will rely on Mbappe to make every opportunity count as they look to guarantee their spot in the competition’s round of 16.
