Manchester United are now just a step away from reaching the UEFA Europa League final following their 3-0 win against Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final first leg of the competition.
They will now host them in the second leg at Old Trafford. A draw would be enough (even a 2-0 defeat will be enough) to see them book a place in the final. Despite their league season going into shambles, the Red Devils can still rescue the horrendous campaign with a trophy.
Not only will they win the title, but they will also get a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. Since the start of the season, the club have seen many changes. The first was the firing of Erik ten Hag.
Moreover, they also loaned out Marcus Rashford and Antony. Now, both players’ futures at the club remain doubtful after the end of the season.
Because the team has the potential to win the UEFA Europa League this season, will Rashford and Ten Hag be awarded the winners’ medal if they do?

Although UEFA does not have precise guidelines regarding the distribution of winners’ medals, each club is only allowed to award 40 medals to its employees and players. Those who did not attend the final may not receive any recognition.
If Man United manages to win the cup, then Ten Hag might not receive a medal. As per the UEFA rules, even if the sacked manager has overseen only some of the team’s European competition games, he still will get the medal regardless of his dismissal from the club.
Meanwhile, Rashford is on loan at Aston Villa, but he is still a United player. He has also featured in some of the club’s UEFA Europa League matches. Hence, he should get the winners’ medal if the Red Devils triumph in the final.
