Will Marcus Rashford play tonight for England vs Uruguay in international friendly?

In the first of two international friendlies in March, Thomas Tuchel’s England will play Uruguay. For this month’s games, the Three Lions manager has chosen to field an enlarged squad, which will allow him to have a closer look at certain players who may be on the squad’s perimeter.

Since Thomas Tuchel took over as manager at the start of 2025, the Three Lions have flourished, winning nine of their ten games. As one of the tournament favourites, they will travel to North America to end the excruciating 60-year wait to win the World Cup.

However, before the competition starts, the Three Lions will face two big tests in March, and every player will receive a chance to prove himself and to be a part of the national team’s squad for the World Cup.

Among them will be Marcus Rashford, who has so far been picked up by Tuchel in all his World Cup qualifier games last year. Moreover, the forward is currently playing for Barcelona after joining them on a season-long loan.

It hasn’t been confirmed if Marcus Rashford will start tonight against Uruguay, but the forward is expected to play, or most likely feature off the bench. Considering Three Lions’ plenty of attacking options at their disposal, Rashford faces major competition for his minutes on the pitch tonight.

Moreover, his time at Barcelona so far has been a mixed run as he hopes to make a difference at the club and national level. However, the forward trained ahead of the game and Tuchel will be counting on the Manchester United star, be it from the starting lineup or coming as a substitute against South American giants.
