Will Neymar play tonight for Santos vs Bahia in Brazilian Serie A?

For both their local supporters and Brazilian football in general, Santos‘s return to Serie A was a historic occasion. Fortunately, the “Pele’s team” swiftly returned to the top flight after their tragic relegation.

Fans were disappointed with Santos’ first Serie A game upon their return, though. Vasco do Gama shockingly defeated Pedro Caixinha’s team 1-2. Even though they were ahead in the game, the loss felt well-earned.

The return of Neymar, who made his debut for his childhood club but hasn’t yet played in Serie A, especially excited the fans. Regretfully, the top Brazilian football player missed the start of his team’s season due to yet another injury.

Meanwhile, the club have a lot of potential because they can play much better. Maybe they just need some time to get together and begin playing visually appealing football. Moreover, a coaching change might ignite things necessary to move in the right direction.

They are currently 17th in the league table and will hope to look for their first win in the Serie A, which could be without their star player, who is still nursing an injury.

Neymar’s availability is still in doubt as the forward is recovering from injury. It remains to be seen when the former Paris Saint-Germain star will finally return to action. Neymar has continued to post his training photos but so far is yet to receive the green light from the medical team.

However, his presence for Santos in the games did hint that the team could play entertaining football. But since his absence, the Brazilian side have suffered a dip in their performance. They have struggled to win matches, which has increased doubts about their ability to perform without the former Barcelona star.

Fans and the club will be hoping for the Brazilian to return to action soon as the league season has commenced, and they will hope to fight for the title.
