The Arsenal Women’s team holds the record for most FA Cup wins.

The premier yearly cup competition for English football’s women’s clubs is the Women’s FA Challenge Cup. Since its founding in 1970, it has gone by several names, including the WFA Cup, FA Women’s Cup, and Women’s FA Cup (now known as the Adobe Women’s FA Cup due to endorsement).

The Women’s Football Association (WFA) organise the competition, which was first called the Mitre Challenge Trophy in 1970–71 and was intended to be the men’s football equivalent of the FA Cup. Teams from Scotland and Wales were among the 71 participants.

Southampton claimed the cup eight times during the first 23 seasons of the competition, which was run by the WFA. English women’s football was first governed by the Football Association (FA) in the middle of 1993.

With fourteen victories altogether, Arsenal are the team with the most titles. Manchester United won their first cup trophy in 2024 after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-0.

Known more colloquially as the Women’s FA Cup or the WFA Cup, it was a Women’s Football Association competition until 1992–1993. Up until 2015, the Association renamed the competition as the FA Women’s Cup once it was transferred to the FA in 1993–1994.
