Neville and Sheamus indulged in a friendly banter.

WWE legend Sheamus and Manchester United veteran Gary Neville engaged in a humorous skirmish during ‘The Overlap’ program. Sheamus’s long-standing Liverpool support fueled the animosity.

Neville asked Sheamus to display a move because he was interested in what it would be like to perform in a wrestling arena. Sheamus took advantage of the situation by holding Neville and attempting to get the former United player to concede that Liverpool would win the Premier League.

Neville, of course, showed his unshakable devotion to Manchester United by cheekily rejecting Liverpool rather than saying such things. When the former WWE Champion caught Neville with his fly open, Rebecca Lowe couldn’t stop laughing.

At first, he found it difficult to execute the manoeuvre because the pundit seemed a bit heavier than anticipated. But in the end, the former defender was left in pain after the Clover Leaf move was applied.

The fact that Sheamus had Neville remark that Arne Slot’s team is “No1” and that “Liverpool are going to win the league” only made matters worse.

Sheamus is currently preparing for the Royal Rumble, an event in which he has had great success since winning the prestigious 30-man over-the-top-rope battle royal in 2012. Indiana will host the Rumble on February 1 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Liverpool’s recent Carabao Cup first-leg loss to Tottenham Hotspurs was only a minor setback to their amazing season thus far. Currently commanding the race with six points separating them from second-place Arsenal with one game remaining, the Reds are firmly in charge of the Premier League.

Liverpool have the opportunity to increase their lead to nine points at the top when they play Nottingham Forest, who are currently in third place.

Meanwhile, Manchester United continue with their sluggish performance, although a 2-2 draw against the Reds will hopefully spark some life into Ruben Amorim’s men for the remainder of the season
