Zinedine Zidane in talks with Manchester United chiefs: Reports

The Red Devils are one of the big admirers of the former Real Madrid coach.
Zinedine Zidane has been in continuous talks with a trusted chief executive of Manchester United, as Erik ten Hag remains under pressure at the club.
Following crucial discussions over the international break, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team are still debating Erik ten Hag’s future.
According to ‘The Independent’, Jean-Claude Blanc, the chief executive officer of sport at INEOS, has maintained a dialogue with Zidane.
The former Real Madrid boss, who has not yet decided if he wants to return to management, has long been admired by Ratcliffe and Frenchman Blanc. INEOS hope to bring Zinedine Zidane, who is a three straight Champions League winner with Los Blancos as coach, to Old Trafford.
Ten Hag is under increasing pressure as United have their worst-ever start in the Premier League after seven games, sitting in 14th place with a -3 goal differential.
Ten Hag had signed a one-year contract renewal over the summer. It appears like United will continue with him for the time being. But if things don’t change then the club board might have to make the ultimate decision.
No information has surfaced from the seven-hour meeting that Ratcliffe, Blanc, and all other key decision-makers had in London last Tuesday.
After surviving a June review, Ten Hag received £205 million for the summer window signings, bringing his total expenditures to over £600 million in just his third-year term.
In the event that Ten Hag is fired, Ratcliffe will need to modify his shortlist as Thomas Tuchel is no longer in the running for the Man United position. Tuchel has been named the permanent replacement of Gareth Southgate as England’s manager.
One of the few successful men without a job right now is 52-year-old Zinedine Zidane. But United might have to do a lot besides convincing the former midfielder to become their manager. Zindane had revealed earlier that he might reject the chance due to his lack of fluency in English.
Zinedine Zidane had told L’Equipe: “Would I want to go to Manchester? I understand English, but I’m not completely fluent in it.”
