Max Verstappen has a long way to go before he can climb to the summit of the list.

Apart from race wins and pole positions, podiums are also an important accomplishment in racing. A podium finish is referred to as a top-three finish in Formula 1. We take a look at the drivers with the most podiums to their name in Formula 1.

10. Valtteri Bottas (67)

Former Williams and Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas is tenth on the list. The Finnish driver is standing with 67 podiums in his active F1 career. He signed for Alfa Romeo at the end of the previous season. Since Alfa Romeo aren't really a podium competitive team, it's hard for Bottas to increase the tally furthermore. However, the car did show some promise but reliability made the team and him fall apart after the initial few rounds.

He is still standing ahead of the likes of Pierre Gasly, Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel and Kevin Magnussen at P10.

9. Rubens Barichello (68)

The Brazilian driver is famous for his stint at Ferrari from 2000 to 2005. The time is fondly regarded as the 'Schumacher Era'. He was a clear number two for the Scuderia Ferrari as it was Michael Schumacher who was always preferred for the race wins and championships.

Apart from Ferrari, Barichello drove for Jordan, Stewart, Honda, Brawn and finally Williams. He was Jenson Button's teammate when he and Brawn GP did a miracle in 2009 to take home the championships. He finished third that season.

He left Formula 1 at the end of 2011 and left for driving in Indycar.

8. Max Verstappen (80)

This is another record list that features the 25-year-old and now two-time champion Max Verstappen. With 80 podiums to his name, Verstappen stands eighth in the chart.

Verstappen debuted in the series when he was just 16. In the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix held at the Circuit of Catalunya, he got his first race victory. Which also happened to be the first podium of his career.

Verstappen is seven podiums away from getting past another great in the list.

7. Ayrton Senna (80)

With 80 podiums to his name, Ayrton Senna stands in seventh place. However, that could have been higher had he not lost his life in 1994, aged 34. Senna's first F1 podium came at Monaco in the 1984 Monaco GP. He finished second in that race. He got his first victory in the following year when he switched to Lotus. It happened at the Portuguese Grand Prix held at Estoril.

His last podium finish was at Adelaide in 1993 when he won the race. His last podium and race victory was with McLaren. He switched to Williams the following year.

6. Fernando Alonso (101)

Spanish driver Fernando Alonso has become just the sixth driver to record 100 or more podiums in F1. He joined Aston Martin next year. Seeing the deal of the Martins, it looks like a mountain task to take that car that high.

Alonso made his Formula 1 debut in 2001. He has to wait till Malaysia GP 2003 to get his first of 98 podiums. It looked like his second-place finish at Hungaroring in 2014 would be his last-ever podium. But then he came back from retirement and clinched third place at Losail, Qatar in 2021.

5. Kimi Räikkönen (103)

The highest-ranked Finnish driver on the list, Kimi Räikkönen is past the hundred mark. He made his debut alongside Alonso in 2001. He retired from F1 last year.

Kimi's first-ever podium came as a P3 finish at Melbourne in 2002. He touched the century of podiums at Monza in front of Ferrari's own fans. Kimi got the pole for that race but Hamilton was the first one to cross the finish line. His last podium was in Brazil Grand Prix that same. He then had to make way for Charles Leclerc at Ferrari and moved to Alfa Romeo in 2019.

4. Alain Prost (106)

Four-times Championship winner Alain Prost has driven for top constructors over his Formula 1 career. He drove for McLaren, Renault, Ferrari and Williams. He got the maximum of his wins and podiums while driving for McLaren.

His first of 106 podiums came at the Argentine Grand Prix in 1981. He came back from retirement to win the 1993 title. His last podium came at the Australian Grand Prix that year.

3. Sebastian Vettel (122)

Sebastian Vettel got his first podium at the Italian Grand Prix 2008. His historical drive with Red Bull's sister team Toro Rosso earned him his first victory in the racing series. He also became the first-ever driver to win a race with Toro Rosso. His career took no looking back after he got promoted to Red Bull.

Vettel's last podium came at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2021 with Aston Martin. He finished P2 behind Red Bull's Sergio Perez. He surpassed Alain Prost when he won the race at Spa in 2018. However, he wasn't the first German to do so.

2. Michael Schumacher (155)

Michael Schumacher was the first one to break past Prost's record number of podiums. In 2004, he recorded a hundred per cent podium record with Ferrari.

Schumacher earned his first podium at the Mexican GP in 1992. He surpassed Alain Prost at the British GP 2022. He went on to win after starting P3. His last podium as a Ferrari driver came in Shanghai in 2006, which was supposedly his last year in Formula 1. He came back for a three-year stint at Mercedes but he only secured one podium in total. That was in the European GP 2012.

1. Lewis Hamilton (192)

Lewis Hamilton is ahead of Michael Schumacher in yet another area and has the best podium record in all of Formula 1. Among drivers with more than 10 podiums, his podium percentage of 61.44 is only bettered by Juan Manuel Fangio's 68.63. Hamilton got his first F1 career podium on his debut in the Australian Grand Prix 2007. He finished third behind Kimi and Alonso.
