F1 Singapore GP 2023: Updated Schedule and Timings

The Singapore GP is one of the most exhilarating and demanding races on the Formula 1 calendar, thanks in part to its narrow streets, tight corners and challenging weather conditions. However, despite the limited overtaking opportunities at the Marina Bay track, the 2023 season might finally bring us a new winner. Now, let’s delve into the updated schedule of the Singapore GP.
Reflecting on last year’s race, it wasn’t the usual Max Verstappen victory that we’ve become accustomed to this year. This is because, despite starting from pole position, Charles Leclerc was swiftly overtaken by Sergio Perez, who went on to claim his second win of the 2022 season.
Fast forward to 2023, and Red Bull has dominated Formula 1, with Max Verstappen securing an impressive ten consecutive victories. However, unlike other tracks, the Marina Bay circuit could prove to be a curveball due to its gruelling physical conditions. The combination of scorching heat, suffocating humidity, and an unforgiving track layout makes this event the most challenging on the Formula 1 calendar.
Additionally, the track’s high downforce requirements, similar to Monaco and Hungary, could also pose a challenge for Red Bull, as they have faced tough competition over a single lap in such circuits. This was evident when Monaco saw Verstappen pushing his car to the limit to secure pole position, while Lewis Hamilton showcased his prowess in Hungary with a phenomenal lap.
Furthermore, following a disappointing race at Monza, Aston Martin could be the surprise contender at the Singapore GP, as Fernando Alonso has previously pointed out that the AMR 23 is better suited to such circuits.
