To win each of the Grand Prix in a single season is no mean task.

Formula 1 (F1) has been the epicenter of many controversial debates. One of them, in particular, has stuck out like a thorn. The sheer difference in the quality of manufacturing of cars eventually makes some cars superior to the rest of the grid.

For many, that kills the unpredictable nature of sports and exempts any underdog fairytale. As mundane as it may be, it is a nod to the engineers and inventors who burn the midnight oil to build the best machinery possible with their stringent resources to compete even before a season starts.

With an uneven distribution comes a curious question- Has there been an F1 team that has dominated so much that it has won all the races in a season?

Mercedes have often produced the most dominant Formula 1 car over the last decade, so it comes as no surprise that in terms of having the most wins in a season, the silver arrows are leading the charts by percentages. The 2016 driver pairing at Mercedes got F1 W07 Hybrid to complement their mercurial talents.

Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton shared a staggering result of securing a 90.5% winning rate, with 19 victories out of a possible 21 races between them. Rosberg won his first and only World Drivers' Championship that season before announcing his shocking retirement from the sport.

Despite Mercedes' impressive 2016 season, the feat of having the highest percentage of wins in a season belongs to the McLaren team of 1988. The British motor racing team boasted of having two legendary drivers equipped with MP4/4 at their disposal that season, making things incredibly difficult for others to even compete during that period.

Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna joined forces to annihilate the statisticians with an unreal 93.8% race win that season, sharing 15 first-place finishes out of 16 races, just missing out closely for a perfect 100% season.

McLaren also made another record that they hold on to this date of having the most consecutive wins in a season, standing at 11, where they won Brazilian, San Marino, Monaco, Mexican, Canadian, Detroit, French, British, German, Hungarian, and Belgian Grand Prix.

So technically, no. No team has won all the races in a single F1 season, but McLaren and Mercedes have come close.
