Call of Duty fans and zombie lovers are pretty excited as Treyarch is teasing a pretty hardcore Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Zombies Cursed Mode.

This will be coming to the game at the launch and bring back that old school Black Ops 3 grind to the game. There will be no loadouts, no minimap—just you, a pistol, and waves of zombies coming at you in madness.

You spawn in “Ashes of the Damned” with nothing but grit and a sidearm. Classic points trickle in for headshots and goals, pushing you to scavenge, strategize, and survive without the benefit of modern bonuses.

You get relics, the ancient artifacts, which are scattered across Dark Aether’s twisted timelines. Each of them is tied to the Zombies’ totem from history. These are also known as double-edged swords.

Reason? You can unlock buffs like enhanced mobility or enemy weaknesses, but you might get debuffs that amp the agony, like capping Perk-a-Colas at four or nuking Ammo Caches.

Unlocking Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Zombies Cursed Mode

Treyarch has already confirmed in the dev talk video that Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Zombies Cursed Mode will be available at launch.

You can unlock it if one player or team can manage to complete the Ashes of the Damned main quest in Black Ops 7 Zombies. This will be live within hours of the launch.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is officially releasing on November 14, 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC.
