Switch owners will be able to experience COD very soon!
Good news for Nintendo fans! Insider Jez Corden (Windows Central) has revealed that the first Call of Duty announcement for Switch 2 is going to happen very soon.
A 10-year pact between Microsoft and Nintendo that began in February 2023 offered CoD on Switch platforms. But till now, there was no news of it. Now, finally, we might get some new news very soon in 2026. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Which Call of Duty is coming to Nintendo?
Jez Corden answered the fans’ questions on X about the COD and when it will arrive on Nintendo platforms.
He also mentioned that all the delays have been related to scarce Switch 2 dev kits. The game version is finally done and will be launching in few months.
For now, there is no news or reports that suggest which title is coming to Nintendo. But many fans and experts expect that it is going to be Warzone.
It’s a free-to-play model with a good player base and can easily leverage the new Switch’s beefy hardware (NVIDIA DLSS, 1080p/4K upscaling).
There is a very small chance that it might be Black Ops 6 or any other old remake title. Most of them also think that Black Ops 7 won’t be arriving on Nintendo for now.
Do remember that nothing is confirmed by Activision or Nintendo for now. Make sure to wait for an official announcement.
Conclusion
Switch 2’s June 2025 launch and dev kit shortages have slowed the progress. It appears that 2026 (likely Q1—Feb/March) is a safe bet for the launch.
Warzone has been successful on the mobile version as well, so it will be an instant hit among the Switch 2 owners as well.
