Days Gone Remastered is easily one of the best open-world zombie games ever created by Bend Studio and one of the fans’ favourites.

This game was launched in 2019 for PS4 and in 2021 for PC. Now, a remastered version is on the way on PS5 on April 25, 2025.

Days Gone Remastered on PC

Unlike the PS5, Days Gone Remastered on PC is not a standalone title.

If you own the game on PC (available on Steam and Epic Games Store since 2021), you can upgrade the game with the Broken Road DLC for just $10 USD.

This DLC will be available on April 25, 2025 and will bring all remastered features and modes to the PC version.

In comparison, PS4 owners can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for $10, although this option is not available if you obtained the game through PS Plus.

On PC, however, the upgrade path is simple for all owners, making it a cost-effective option to get the new material.

What fans can expect from Days Gone Remastered upgrade?

The Broken Road DLC on PC will include all the new exciting features:

• Horde Assault Mode: A survival arcade mode with larger hordes (up to 800 Freakers on-screen, compared to 500 in the original), 18 playable characters, 20+ weapons, 4 maps, 24 Injectors, and a max player level of 35—offering 10 additional hours of gameplay. [Ref post ID: 3] [Ref web ID: 10]
• Permadeath Mode: A high-stakes challenge where one death restarts your journey.
• Speedrun Mode: Track your completion time as you race through the story.
• Enhanced Photo Mode: New tools like time-of-day settings and three-point lighting for stunning shots.
• DualSense Haptic Support: Feel every rumble (wired connection required for full features).
• Expanded Accessibility: Features like High Contrast mode, UI Narration, and controller remapping.

In Days Gone Remastered, you will play as Deacon St. John, a rugged biker-turned-bounty hunter searching for his wife.

The post-apocalyptic Oregon overrun by Freakers has an amazing story, extensive side content and a bike that can be upgraded.

If you like slaying zombies and riding bikes, this might be perfect for you. The newly added features and modes in Days Gone Remastered are going to increase the fun of hunting zombies.
