This class lets you become invisible
Elden Ring Nightreign has eight playable classes at launch, but only six are available: Wylder, Raider, Guardian, Ironeye, Executor, and Recluse.
The remaining two are: the Duchess and Revenant, which require players to unlock them. The Duchess is a nimble fighter who excels at stealth and swift attacks. Let’s check out how you can unlock this class in the game.
Unlocking the Duchess Class
Unlocking this class isn’t very difficult, but it does require some progression in the game. Here are the steps to unlock this class:
- Encounter the first Nightlord: You have to first encounter the first Nightlord, Tricephalos, also known as Gladius, Beast of Night, during the Tricephalos Expedition. After surviving three in-game days, you’ll face this huge, three-headed wolf.
- The Old Pocketwatch: After defeating him, you will get the Old Pocketwatch, which is an essential item for unlocking this class. However, you do not have to beat him. Even if you don’t defeat the boss, completing runs of the Tricephalos Expedition can result in the Pocketwatch dropping at random.
- Roundtable Hold: Once you have the item, return to the Roundtable Hold and speak with the Priestess NPC in the white cloak. If you choose to give her the Pocketwatch (which you keep), a short sequence will show her to be the Duchess. She’s now permanently unlocked and ready for play.

Duchess Class abilities
Here are the abilities and Optimal Stat Scalings for this class:
Passive: Magnificent Pose
- This gives the ability to chain dodge, granting her more ability and invisibility frames.
Skill: Restage
- You can reapply the portion of the damage that was recently dealt by you and your allies.
Ultimate: Finale
- This ability makes you and your allies invisible. This applies to both offensive and defensive use.
Best Scaling: INT (A), FP (B), DEX (B), FTH (B)
Duchess is more of a roguelike class in Elden Ring Nightreign, which relies more on stealth and quick, swift movements.
Her Magnificent Poise passive ability minimizes the stamina cost of avoiding and hitting quickly.
Her Restage Character Skill reapplies the final few seconds of team damage to enemies, while her Finale Ultimate Art obscures adjacent friends, rendering them invisible to foes.
This class is pretty good for a three-party squad when you are out to defeat the nightlords in the game.
