Fans are not happy with Marvel Rivals Season 6.5 balance patch

New mid-season starts from February 13, 2026
NetEase has finally revealed the hero gameplay trailer for Elsa Bloodstone and the balance changes for the upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 6.5. Quite honestly, the fans are not too happy about this balance patch.
The only good thing about this balance patch is that Adam can now fly and get a movement buff. Also, there are some good buffs provided to Storm as well.
However, there are some questionable changes this time. Lowering the cost of Ultimate for Star-lord, who is already an ULT merchant.
Pyslocke catching stray nerfs, but the balance change on her Ultimate is good. There are no nerfs for Emma, Mag, Bucky, Groot, Hela, Hawkeye, Namor, Gambit and Daredevil.
The meta has been the same for so long and Season 6.5 is going to be the same as well, with just another poke character, Elsa Bloodstone, joining the game.
Fans’ reaction to Marvel Rivals Season 6.5 balance patch
FiruHaikyuu shares some bold thoughts, while also being excited for the upcoming skins:
“Rivals is really unplayable right now, ranks are meaningless, it feels like every opponent team is full of smurfs, this hitscan c*ap is the worst, the triple support… BUT we’re finally getting something for Rogue/Gambit’s wedding, something for Chinese New Year, and a mini bp.”
Here’s what Rigsychu has to say about the patch and Psylocke nerfs: “Another nothing burger patch W, psy nerfed harder than phoenix when shes the server admin 90% of the time.”
Many users like Mayo still thinks this patch notes are fake and NetEase should drop the real patch notes: “Good joke, okay now where’s the real patch notes? with smiling emoji.”
Havoc has perfectly described everything: “Gambit still broken, no blade buffs, random venom wolv buff when they’re already strong, groot mag still beyond broken and triple support (mantis) is not changed. Gambit is the most banned hero in the game and they said “yeah we’re not going to investigate why he’s perma banned”.
You can read the full balance patch notes on the official Rivals website.
Conclusion
Despite some good changes, most of the buffs and nerfs are quite questionable. Also, it doesn’t seem like the triple support meta will be going anywhere.
Considering this is a mid-season, will NetEase go heavy on the balance patch for Season 7, or will things are going to stay the same? What are your thoughts on Marvel Rivals Season 6.5? Do share your thoughts and views with us in the comments section.
