The new season is finally here
After so many leaks and rumors, Epic Games has finally revealed the upcoming Fortnite OG Season 3, officially dubbed “Meteor Strike,” hitting the battle royale on March 25, 2025.
After the successful OG drops, this fan-favorite season from February 2018 is back once again and fans are pretty excited about it. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Release date for Fortnite OG Season 3?
Epic Games has officially announced that Fortnite OG Season 3 will launch on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. “Why crash out when you could crash in?”—a homage to the season’s iconic meteor theme. One standout? Lucky Landing, a lively POI with Asian-inspired architecture and a breathtaking cherry blossom centerpiece, is making a triumphant return.
The original season 3 was just brilliant which shook the players with a meteor storyline that reshaped the map every week.
It was a simpler time when Pump Shotguns dominated and the Battle Pass’s “Take the L” expression became a go-to flex after a clutch double tap. Posts on X are already filled with players reminiscing over the “golden days.”

What to expect?
Fortnite might be in the golden era this year stacked with Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing crossovers, but OG mode and the previous season are the icing on the cake for the fans.
Epic Games have given the fans what they wanted the most. Season 3 combined the game’s raw early mood with dynamic map evolution, laying the groundwork for a creative future. Lucky Landing was more than just a drop zone; it was an atmosphere that combined calm beauty with frenzied firefights.
This isn’t just a simple throwback but a whole love letter and gift to the community. With Fortnite OG Season 3, Epic Games wants to make sure that their fans and community enjoy the game to the fullest and can remember the good old days and era of 2018.
