miHoYo is working on another open-world fantasy game
Good news for Genshin Impact fans, as the latest news regarding miHoYo (aka HoYoverse) who are currently working on a new fantasy open world MMO PvP and PvE game.
The amazing part is that this game is built on Unreal Engine 5, instead of Unity Engine, which has been used for their previous games.
It’s got open-world sprawl, PvP conflicts, and AI smarts that could alter NPC chit-chat, as shown in a cryptic 20-second teaser on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu (discovered by ResetEra sleuths and Eurogamer).
The Teaser Breakdown
It’s a pretty small teaser, where it showcases a foggy, root-wrapped environment and in the background, we can see some galloping horses. I won’t lie, this setting is pretty much looking like a souls game.
The clip tells, “restore the collapsed order, end corrupt contracts, defy divine whims.” Fans can expect lore-rich saga of ancient mysteries, ghostly beasts, and legendary heroes.
Job postings from August 2024 reveal that it has been simmering: 63 positions for “epic fantasy worlds,” “dynamic open-worlds,” and “multiplayer combat.”
There is no release date yet, but speculations indicate that it will be miHoYo’s next flagship, potentially competing with MMO heavyweights such as New World or Throne & Liberty.

AI magic in a new game
What makes this Genesis different from others? AI everywhere. Fans can expect an “Artificial Intelligence Stimulated Ecosystem.” Wildlife reacts realistically, with flocks dispersing from your raid and ecosystems altering after a big slay.
“All-Terrain Battle AI” offers adaptive adversaries that flank across mud, mountains, or mist, but “Intellectual NPCs” could refer to locals having backstories more complex than a Fontaine questline.
Conclusion
This time, miHoYo’s is using the Unreal Engine 5 for their new game and not opting to choose the Unity Engine. This expresses their intentions for their next project to be even bigger than all the previous games that they have released so far.
For now, we can only wait patiently and wait for more new news or updates for this game.
