GTA 6 possible pricing debate: Fans are worried about $100 tag

Is this too much?
The whole gaming industry is right now buzzing with the new debate which is related to GTA 6 pricing and other games. This is all due to the following remarks industry analyst Matthew Ball.
Ball thinks that Rockstar Games’ parent firm, Take-Two, may price GTA VI at a remarkable $80 or even $100 in his comprehensive analysis, ‘State of Video Gaming in 2025’. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Price too high for the gamers?
There is no doubt that $80-100 standard edition game is literally too much of a spend. Not everyone can afford to play the games if this will be the new starting price segment in the future.
This move might save the gaming industry which will set up a new standard with good budget, developers, teams, etc. However, they have to also take in consideration that not everyone might able to purchase the game at that price.
Discussions on sites like Reddit show a mixture of frustration and economic analysis from the community. The jump from the current standard of $70 to a potential $100 for GTA 6 may exclude some gamers, making one of the most anticipated games out of reach for some fans.
There are many who might be ready to pay this much for their favourite upcoming games. However, this won’t work with every single game. Personally, I can spend up to $200 only for GTA 6. But I won’t even spend $80-100 on Assassin’s Creed game knowing Ubisoft is going to deliver another sh**ty game.

One user, Animegamingnerd, stated, “Raising game prices even further simply means that a lot of people (including myself) will buy fewer games, further harming the industry.” Others share this sentiment, fearing that a price increase will encourage waiting for sales, perhaps diminishing immediate sales volumes. TimidPanther was blunter, saying, “[$100] games would kill the industry.”
I totally agree with this statement and I believe the sales of these will also be flop except for GTA 6. No other studio can match Rockstar and other studios should learn from that point as well.
What are your thoughts on this situation? Will you buy GTA 6 if the game will cost $100? Do share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
