Kingdom Hearts 4 still on track for a late 2027 release, Tetsuya Nomura confirms

Delay is not happening!
After so many years, Disney and Square Enix finally revealed the new trailer and some gameplay footage of Kingdom Hearts 4 in the recent Nintendo Direct and Disney D23 event. They also confirmed the release timeline, which is set for late 2027.

Kingdom Hearts 4 won’t be delayed
During the Kingdom Hearts Deep Dive panel at D23, Tetsuya Nomura addressed the concern that were related to the game’s release and whether it would be delayed or not.
Nomura said that he has seen the online discussion about the delay and explained that the development team remains committed to launching the game in late 2027.
He also said that the marketing of the game has just begun and fans can expect more information, details and streams of updates in the coming months.
With this, it is very clear that the development of the game is progressing without any issues and they are targeting a late 2027 release without any delays.
New gameplay trailer & Disney worlds
During the Disney D23 event, Disney and Square Enix showcased a new gameplay trailer. There were several Disney locations and popular characters that were shown:
- The Land of the Dead from Pixar’s Coco
- The Underworld from Disney’s Hercules
- New playable sections featuring King Mickey
- Expanded combat and exploration across multiple worlds
