Marvel Rivals Season 3 dev talk & everything announced for upcoming season

NetEase has finally dropped the official trailer for Marvel Rivals Season 3, which is going to start from July 11, 2025.
They also released a whole 16-minute video of Dev Talk in which they talked about the new changes and features arriving in the upcoming season. Let’s find out more details in this article.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 starts from July 11
It’s now official that Marvel Rivals Season 3 is going to start on July 11, 2025. This season is called “The Abyss Awakens.”
In the trailer, we can see Knull has awakened and Hela has switched sides and fused with the symbiote. Phoenix and Blade can be seen fighting with her in the trailer.
Fans also got to see the first look of Knull in Marvel Rivals as well.

Marvel Rivals Dev vision & talk
NetEase also uploaded the Marvel Rivals Season 3 Dev vision and talk, where Creative Director Guangguang and Lead Combat Designer Zhiyong revealed more updates and information about the upcoming season.
First in the video, they talked about the new upcoming hero for season 3, which is Jean Grey ‘Phoenix.’ She will be the duelist in the game, also teased about the new map, “KLYNTAR: CELESTIAL HUSK.“
Here are some of her abilities, which were teased by Guangguang:
- Some form of Chain Reaction mechanic.
- Her Ultimate, where she merges with the Phoenix Force, deals massive damage and has a special ability to clear enemy summons from the battlefield!
Blade will be joining the roster in Season 3.5 and there will also be a new competitive mode, which will be added in Season 3.5.
So from now on, the entire season is going to be two months and because of that, there will be many changes made to complete missions.
In this way, players will be able to earn more rewards while completing the mission. New Battle Pass was also teased, which shows us more Phoenix-based and Symbiote-based costumes arriving in Marvel Rivals Season 3.
There are also hero adjustments that will be made in the upcoming season. Full patch notes and balance adjustments will be revealed later on the official Marvel Rivals website.

Vanguard:
- Nerf: Emma Stone
- Buff: The Thing and Venom
Duelists:
- Nerf: Iron Man, Punisher, Mr. Fantastic
- Buff: Namor, Scarlet Witch
Strategists:
- Nerf: Loki, Ultron
- Buff: Mantis, Invisible Woman
Team-up changes in Marvel Rivals Season 3
There will be new team-ups which will be included in Marvel Rivals Season 3 and some of them will be removed. Check them out:
New Team-ups:
- Phoenix (Anchor) x Wolverine: Wolverine’s Feral Leap now burns Enemies.
- Torch (Anchor) x Spider-Man: Spider-Man can now shoot a Flaming Web, dealing area damage and applying a Burn-Tracer.
Adjustments:
- Hela joins the “Symbiuote Shenanigans” Teamup: Helas’ soul drainer spheres drag people in and symbiote tendrils slow enemies
- Squirrel Girl joins the “Stark Protocol” Teamup: Squirrel Girl can have a squirrel ride a gauntlet towards an enemy and the glove will explode on hit.
Storm x Torch and Squirrel x Spider-Man team-up will be removed in Marvel Rivals Season 3. You can check out full video here to know more about new features and details on Season 3:
