Sony San Diego has finally announced the MLB The Show 25 with the official release date and cover athletes for the game. This game is scheduled to release on March 18, 2025 and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

Unlike past years, it will not be available on several platforms or through Game Pass on the same day. Those who purchase the Digital Edition, on the other hand, will be able to play the game four days before its release on March 14. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Here are the official cover stars for the MLB The Show 25:

• Paul Skenes, the promising pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates,
• Elly De La Cruz, the electrifying shortstop from the Cincinnati Reds,
• Gunnar Henderson, the dynamic shortstop of the Baltimore Orioles.

These young athletes will grace the cover of the game in both Standard and Digital Deluxe editions of the game.

What’s new in MLB The Show 25?

While a detailed feature list is forthcoming, early indications from the PlayStation Store description point to big upgrades to the renowned “Road to the Show” game, which now allows players to travel from high school to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Here’s a little glimpse of what to expect:

• Road to the Show: Improved player experience with more influence over development and progress before and after the draft.
• Diamond Dynasty: A revamp with the retirement of Sets and Seasons, providing new gameplay aspects while retaining the spirit that fans love.
• Franchise: New trade assessment metrics and a more engaging offseason experience.
• Gameplay: Expanded quick time events, improved defensive AI, and revamped pathing for more immersive gameplay experiences.
