One of the most iconic franchises is finally back! It has been officially announced that we are going to see a new Tomb Raider game reveal at The Game Awards 2025, on December 11, 2025.

New Lara Croft Tomb Raider game reveal & more details

As officially announced, we will see the official reveal of the new game from this iconic franchise on December 11, 2025, at TGA 2025.

This is teased as, “A look at the future of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises.” The last game was Shadow of the Tomb Raider, developed by Eidos Montreal, released in 2018.

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson previously reported that the same team has been working on a new “big” open-world third-person action-adventure title since 2019. This went into full development in January 2023.

Now, we still have no idea whether this is a new entry in the franchise or an old remake of the previous game. Based on the development, we hope that this will be a completely new title.

Final Thoughts

Tomb Raider fans are in for a treat. First, the live-action series will begin filming in January 2026, starring Sphie Turner as Lara Croft. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Chad Hodge are the showrunners and Jonathan van Tulleken (‘Shogun’) will direct this series.
