PC gaming is about to be changed with the newly launched Nvidia RTX 50 series. Both flagship GPU’s RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 models are ready to hit the market.

Reviews of the RTX 5090 Founders Edition have been positive, with considerable improvements over its predecessor, particularly in 4K performance, with up to a 30% increase. The design has also been revised, lowering the card’s size to a more streamlined 2-slot form factor and improving cooling efficiency.

Release date and pricing of Nvidia RTX 50 series

Here is the main information that you need to know about the new graphics card:

  • RTX 5090 and RTX 5080: Both cards will be available on January 30, 2025. They will be available at 9 a.m. ET, with heavy demand likely to result in stock shortages.
  • RTX 5070 & 5070 Ti: These models will be released in February, though precise dates have yet to be revealed.

Pricing

  • RTX 5090: MSRP at $1,999
  • RTX 5080: MSRP at $999
  • RTX 5070 Ti: Expected at $749
  • RTX 5070: Priced at $549, offering performance akin to the RTX 4090 but at a $50 lower price point.

Pre-Ordering

Pre-ordering the Nvidia RTX 50 series might be the best option to secure the latest GPUs at launch. There is definitely a lot of demand and there is a chance that it might be out of stock very fast.

However, getting one at the MSRP may be difficult owing to probable scalping and price rise. Overclockers UK has stated that pre-orders will be available beginning on the release date, implying a limited initial quantity.

  • Tensor and Ray Tracing Cores: The RTX 5090 has 5th generation Tensor Cores and 4th generation Ray Tracing Cores, as opposed to the 4th and 3rd generation in the RTX 4090.
  • Memory: The RTX 5090 has 32GB of GDDR7 memory and 1792 GB/sec bandwidth, up from the RTX 4090’s 24GB GDDR6X and 1008 GB/sec.
  • The launch MSRP for the RTX 5090 is $1,999, up from $1,599 for the RTX 4090.
