A very big outage has hit the PlayStation Network (PSN) which has caused PS4 and PS5 users unable to log in or play online. This issue began around 5:30 AM on February 8, 2025; this is still going on.

Latest Updates on the PSN Outage

PlayStation’s English-language support, Ask PlayStation, addressed the issue on social media, adding, “We are aware that some users may be experiencing problems with PSN.” However, the response has been criticized for underestimating the scale of the outage, as sources indicate that it affects nearly all PS5 and PS4 users. The PSN Service Status page continues to describe every area of the network as “experiencing issues.”

PlayStation Japan said that they are investigating the issue and thanked customers for their patience. Details regarding the cause are unknown, but the size of the outage is enormous, and reports are still coming in.

Despite the fact that the network had been entirely down for more than an hour, PlayStation had yet to issue an official social media statement. Around 45 minutes into the outage, the PSN Service Status website was updated to show difficulties across all network services. PlayStation had not yet released a statement.

As the outage continues, PlayStation is anticipated to issue a formal statement, particularly if it continues throughout the day. Players in Europe, where it is early morning, may not hear from regional channels right away, although updates from PlayStation US may arrive sooner.
