Easy guide for a tough task

Stalker 2 is finally out on PC and Xbox Series X/S and many players have encountered a thought challenge at the start, “The Poppy Field mission.”

This mission will test your survival abilities and strategic decision-making. For some players, this might prove a little challenge, however, we will let you know how you can easily complete this task.

Poppy Field Objective

Your main goal here is to retrieve an icon from an anomaly-filled area known for putting intruders to sleep permanently. Here’s how you can tackle it:

• Preparation: Before entering this field, make sure you have enough energy drinks. These are available from vendors such as Warlock in Zalissya or on the edges of the poppy field.
• Locating Pomor: Remember, first find Pomor. He resides in a building that is near to poppy field. He offers a deal: collect weapons from the fallen soldiers in the field, and in exchange, he will direct you to the icon’s position.

Execution of The Poppy Field Mission

• To gather resources, move around the edge of the poppy field. Quickly in to loot soldiers’ bodies for weapons and ammunition, but keep your stamina up by drinking energy drinks every 10-20 seconds.
• After gathering the materials, return them to Pomor. He’ll then reveal the position of the icon in the cellar.
• Secure the Icon:
• Make your way to the cellar, and continue to consume energy drinks to avoid falling asleep. Inside the cellar, you’ll find the icon and more energy drinks.
• To obtain the Unknown Stalker’s AR416 weapon, complete the Double-Cross quest by giving the icon to Pomor. However, instead of leaving, kill Pomor. This enables you to retrieve the icon, obtain access to his store, and retain the weapon.
• With the icon in your possession, return to Mityay in Zalissya to complete ‘The Poppy Field’ quest and receive your full prize.

Key Tips

Sleep-inducing effects in this field are very lethal. So make sure to keep your stamina high with energy drinks that will prevent you from passing out.

The double-cross with Pomor may appear cruel, but in the unforgiving world of STALKER 2, survival is often the most clever.
