The Chinese gaming industry is already in its boom period and after the success of Black Myth Wukong, they are ready to introduce another AAA open-world game, “The Legend of Jin Yong.”

TuSimple has acquired the rights to convert Minghe Publishing House’s “Jin Yong’s Heroes” into an epic game to commemorate Jin Yong’s 100th birthday. With over 120 scenes from Jin Yong’s novels, “The Legend of Jin Yong” promises to immerse players in a world filled with traditional Chinese culture and martial arts heritage.

Game Details

• This game is going to be developed in Unreal Engine 5 which will provide more breathtaking visuals and smoother gameplay.
• This game will be an open world RPG action game with a map size of Map of 960km².
• Platform: Scheduled for release on PC and consoles, although whispers suggest Sony exclusivity, possibly excluding Xbox platforms like its predecessor, Black Myth: Wukong.
• The development team consists of former Indrasoft developers that worked on titles such as Raziel.
• More updates will be revealed in 2025.

The initial reveal suggests that the developers are going to be very true to the original source material and will try to showcase the Chinese culture in their very best efforts.

For now, there is no information about the release date but the fans will get more updates on The Legend of Jin Yong in 2025.

The official website has also provided some information on the combat and martial system in this game. According to the official blog post of Jyqxol, “The Legend of the Jin Yong” is based on the martial arts in Jin Yong’s original works. It has polished more than 200 martial arts routines and invited a professional martial arts team to perform motion capture, combining traditional Chinese martial arts with martial arts moves, pursuing the sense of the impact of punches and swords and smooth and realistic combo effects, making martial arts “alive”.

Dog Beating Stick Technique, Tai Chi, Nine Yang Manual…all the martial arts moves you have ever imagined can be realized in this game. We have even created a martial arts system with a very high degree of freedom, allowing you to freely combine various skills, moves, and weapons.”
