The fans are really excited as the Marvel Rivals showdown is going to happen soon on Twitch Rivals. Some of the best players and streamers will be joining and competing for the $200,000 prize pool.

So far, the teams have not been revealed yet, however, Valkyrae will be joining this tournament with her team. This was confirmed by her on her latest stream where she was doing some scrims for practice.

Marvel Rivals showdown overview & format

Here is the tournament overview and format:

The thrill begins with 72 individuals joining 12 teams of six to compete over two action-packed days for a $200,000 prize pool. The showdown, scheduled for January 18 and 19, begins each day at 2 p.m. PST and promises to be an exciting demonstration of Marvel Rivals gameplay.

Format

Group Stage: Teams compete in a round robin format, with two matches per round. Rankings are based on win/loss records, with maps selected at random to ensure diversity.
Bracket Stage: This stage uses a single elimination format. The first round and quarterfinals are best-of-three, while the semifinals and grand final are best-of-five. For the finals, map selection includes a strategic veto mechanism, which gives teams control over their battleground.

Prize pool & breakdown

Day 1: $72,000 in winnings, with teams receiving $750 for each match win and $450 for each loss.
Day 2: The primary prize fund of $128,000 is distributed as follows:
First Place: $21,000.
Second place: $18,000.
Third through fourth place: $12,000 each.
Prizes: $8,750 for 5th-8th place and $7,500 for 9th-12th place.

Official teams?

For now, there has been no official announcement regarding the teams and players that will be competing in this tournament. But fans knows that every big streamer is currently streaming Marvel Rivals like Ninja, TimtheThatMan, Necors, Shroud and many more.

Valkyrae has already told in her stream that she will be competing in Twitch Rivals while there were some leaks and speculation in Necros chat about him joining the tournament as well.

Although Necros has not officially confirmed that, but there is a very good chance that he will be participating as he is currently the biggest streamer out there for Marvel Rivals.

Fans would be able to catch all the action live on Twitch and Marvel Rivals official channel. This event will be starting on January 18, 2025, at 2 p.m. PST.
