Why is Western media hating Stellar Blade's success on PC?

The game has sold over 3 million copies!
It won’t be wrong to say that the Stellar Blade launch on PC was a massive success for Sony and SHIFT UP Corporation.
The game sold 1 million copies on PC in just three days and has sold over 3 million copies overall till now. However, not everyone is happy with the success.
Especially when it comes to Western journalism, which seems to be quite salty that the game is doing so well. Let’s find out more in this article.
Stellar Blade’s success is mostly due to Chinese players & Gooner game
This was the first AAA title for SHIFT UP, who are known for the gacha game Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
It was released on April 26, 2024 and till now it has sold over 3 million copies in total. I would say that this was a major success for the company.
However, not everything is going well when it comes to Western media. Most of the reputable websites like PC Gamer, Paul Tassi from Forbes, and many others have been targeting the game.
They can’t digest it well that a game made by Eastern developers with beautiful female characters has done so well, while most of the big AAA companies in the West are struggling to give a hit title.
The best part is that some of them are even defending the disaster launch and flop of the famous franchise, “Dragon Age: The Veilguard.”
They think that Stellar Blade’s success is mostly due to its sexy female characters and Chinese players.
I can somewhat agree that Stellar Blade sold so well, because the female characters are so hot and the outfits are revealing in this game.
The story is kind of mid, however, the combat and gameplay are just incredible. It’s 100 times better than Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
What’s this talk about Chinese players? Are they aliens or what? It doesn’t matter where the game is played the most; in the end, only sales matter.
I would like to ask, “Where were the Western people when it was Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Concord and other flop titles were released?”
Guess, even their own audience ain’t supporting the flop titles with ugly characters, bad gameplay and storytelling.
Conclusion
All gamers would agree with me that we want a game with good character design, amazing combat & gameplay, no forced politics or DEI agenda in the game. We are here to play the games, not to discuss or learn politics or the DEI agenda.
Black Myth Wukong did so well because of its amazing combat and Chinese culture. Stellar Blade did so well because it has beautiful characters and amazing combat.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 did so well because the team of 33 developers was passionate about the game, rather than thinking about the sales or agendas.
