Rockstar Games has now officially revealed the pricing, pre-order timings and Ultimate editions details of GTA 6. The game will be priced at $79.99 and $99.99 for the Standard & Ultimate Editions.
Rockstar Games is also offering physical copies of the game. Sadly, there won’t be any disc inside the copy; instead, players will get a download code. Let’s check out more details in this article.
GTA 6 physical copies are digital in disguise
If you purchase the physical copy of GTA 6 from your local retailer or any other online store, you will receive the physical case, but there will be no physical disc of the game.
Instead, there will be a digital code to download, which will allow you to download the game through the PlayStation or Xbox Store.
Why is Rockstar skipping physical discs?
For now, Rockstar Games has not provided any explanation behind this. But many fans already speculated that this is directly aimed at preventing the early leaks from happening before the launch.
Although this is a good move to prevent the leaks, you can’t deny that the gaming industry is slowly moving towards digital distribution more.
The introduction of a digital download code will also allow Rockstar to have more control over the rollout of the game’s worldwide release while also ensuring that everyone is able to access the game at the same time.
