After multiple name changes, it became the Byron Nelson Classic in 1968, establishing itself as an official PGA Tour event, honoring Nelson’s illustrious career in golf.
This year the tournament will begin on Thursday, May 2, 2024, and conclude on Sunday, May 5, 2024. The Byron Nelson tournament will offer a purse of $9.5m, consistent with the previous edition, including a winner’s share of $1.71m.
In 2023, Jason Day emerged as the winner of the CJ Cup at Byron Nelson, scoring -23, while Austin Eckroat and Kim Si-woo were the runners-up.
