After Round 2 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson 2024, Jake Knapp, a PGA Tour rookie, is leading the scoreboard by one stroke over Matt Wallace and Troy Merritt. Knapp, who won the Mexico Open, has made 15 birdies in his first 36 holes. Despite being a rookie, Knapp is confident in the spotlight due to his recent victory at Vidanta Vallarta.

Despite struggling since the Cognizant Classic, Knapp has made significant progress in the PGA Tour, playing in flagship events, signature events, and even making the cut in his Masters debut. A win on Sunday would make Knapp the first rookie since Xander Schauffele in 2017 to win multiple times on the PGA Tour, joining Scottie Scheffler as the only other player to win more than once this season.
