The total purse for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson 2024 will be $9.5m. The winner of the event will receive a share of $1.71m. The event, set to take place at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, will feature defending champion Jason Day, who won the 2023 tournament. Day will face stiff competition from the 2021 and 2022 champion K.H. Lee and the runner-up from the 2022 event, Jordan Spieth.

Last year, in 2023, Jason Day took $1,710,000 out of the $9.5m total purse as the winner’s share. He scored 64, 69, 66 and 62 in all four rounds to finish 23-under par. The CJ Cup Byron Nelson was initially played as the Texas Victory Open in 1944 and in 1968 it was renamed in honour of the famous golf player Byron Nelson, who was not only a five-time major champion but also a 52-time PGA Tour winner by 2023.
