Rory McIlroy recently became the sixth PGA golfer to achieve a career Grand Slam in golf.

Think winning a golf major is tough? Try winning all four. The Masters, The PGA Championship, The US Open, The Open Championship. This is a golfer‘s dream. The Career Grand Slam isn’t just a milestone… It is a mountain and very few people can reach its top.

Because we’re talking about conquering four very different beasts: Augusta’s rolling greens, the punishing roughs of a U.S. Open, the unpredictability of The Open’s winds, and the high-pressure grind of the PGA. That’s not just versatility. That’s legend status.

It’s not an easy road, even for the LPGA’s best players. With five major themes instead of four, the path to greatness is a little more winding and subtle. But make no mistake, the test is as tough.

Seven women have pulled it off, while others like Lydia Ko and In Gee Chun are one step away from history. Only one, Karrie Webb, dared to go beyond, achieving what’s now called the Super Career Grand Slam (ie, winning all five major championships).

Then there’s Rory McIlroy, who chased this ghost for 11 years. Just one major short, just one! Augusta National haunted him like every spring, like a forgotten promise.

But April 13? The ghosts vanished. Rory stared down pressure, mistakes, and even Justin Rose’s electric charge, before sealing it in a playoff and becoming the sixth man and 13th overall golfer in history to join this rarest fraternity. So, who are the others?
