David Markle, also known as Dave Markle, is Nick Taylor’s caddy. They’ve been partnered up since the autumn of 2022. David Markle is also Canadian and has a keen interest in golf. Nick and David have been buddies for years. They also partnered up for the 2007 Canadian Amateur Tournament.

In 2008, David competed in 15 competitions, qualifying for six of them. He rose to prominence after winning the Monday qualification with a score of 66, sealing his spot in the RBC Canadian Open.

He became professional in golf in 2008 and was a member of the Canadian team that won the Four Nations Cup in 2009. Along with it, he won the 15th season of the Great Lake Tour Shootout in 2016. He also claimed his spectacular triumph in the Mandarin Tour’s debut two-day event at Grey Silo, held in 2014.

According to caddy Diaries, Markle earned an estimated $2433,525 last year as Taylor’s PGA Tour caddy. Before becoming Taylor’s caddy, Markle caddied for his longtime buddy, Canadian golfer Mike Gigic. Furthermore, Markle displayed his collegiate golfing prowess while at Kent State University.

The former athlete turned caddy has developed as one of Canada’s most promising amateur golfers. Notably, he demonstrated his abilities at Kent State University throughout his college years. In 2008, he rose to No. 12 in the R&A World Amateur Golf Rankings, demonstrating his excellent skills on the course. That same year, he was chosen as one of just three Canadian players to compete in the World Amateur Golf Team Championship (WATC) in Adelaide, Australia.

Nick Taylor began his professional golf career in late 2010, appearing in the October Russell Brewing VGT Tour Championship. However, 2024 did not start his career well, as he finished 52nd or below in the other three of his initials during the PGA Tour 2024.Although he improved his record by winning his fourth career title at the WM Phoenix Open, defeating Charley Hoffman in a playoff on the second extra hole. Nick Taylor competed in 30 events, successfully completing 20 of them in 2023. Throughout the year, he finished in the top 10 five times and won the RBC Canadian Open, defeating Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff round and earned $1,620,000.

In 2023, Nick Taylor showcased his golfing prowess across 30 events, impressively making the cut in 20 of them. Among his notable achievements was his victory at the prestigious RBC Canadian Open, where he emerged triumphant after defeating Tommy Fleetwood in a thrilling playoff round, securing a lucrative $1,620,000 cash prize in the process.
