The PGA Championship 2024 is taking place at Valhalla Golf Course from May 16-19, with a $20,000,000 purse on the line. Xander Schauffele leads the tournament with four birdies in his first seven holes, a 4-under start. He is one shot ahead of Jordan Spieth and Doug Ghim. Tiger Woods faces challenges, with a 1-over round and bogeys on the 11th and 15th.
Rory McIlroy is 2-under through six holes while defending champion Brooks Koepka is 1-under through four. Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and other major winners are set to tee off later in the afternoon.
Schauffele’s bogey-free round, featuring nine birdies, set a new record at both the PGA Championship and Valhalla Golf Club, surpassing the previous event record of 65 and the course record of 63. McIlroy and Koepka are in strong positions, while Tiger Woods is at T85 with a 1-over score.
