FIH Nations Cup 2022: Schedule, Results, Squad & Telecast
India will be one of the favourites to win the inaugural edition of the tournament and qualify for the Pro League.
Indian women's hockey team will be taking part in the inaugural edition of the FIH Nations Cup which is the annual qualification tournament for the FIH Pro League. The women's team finished a credible third in the last edition of the Pro League but was relegated to the Nations Cup as two countries had withdrawn last year and India filled up one of the slots. India will be entering the League on the back of a brilliant run at the Commonwealth Games winning a bronze medal.
Eight countries are set to participate in the league and the teams are divided into two groups. India is positioned in Pool B along with Chile, Japan, and South Africa. The top two teams from both groups make it to the semifinals and the winner ultimately will qualify for the Pro League.

Player to Watch
Vandana Katariya and Gurjit Kaur will be the players to watch out for from India. India couldn't hit many goals against Spain in the practice matches and Vandana Katariya needs to put up a spirited performance. She had an excellent outing during the Commonwealth Games and has been India’s forward in recent times. India has failed to make use of penalty corners and has a poor conversion rate. Gurjit Kaur the drag-flicker needs to make use of the opportunity and score as many as possible.
