Asia Cup 2025 offers a direct berth to the 2026 Men’s Hockey Asia Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the TV and digital broadcast rights for the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 in Bihar, ensuring fans across the country can witness the continent’s top hockey nations compete for continental supremacy.
The 12th edition of the prestigious tournament will take place from August 29 to September 7, 2025, at the recently developed Rajgir Hockey Stadium, which underscores India’s investment in sports infrastructure and Bihar’s rising prominence as a sporting hub.
The event follows the successful hosting of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024, where India emerged victorious. With a direct qualification spot for the 2026 Men’s Hockey World Cup, to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands, up for grabs, the tournament promises intense competition and high-stakes drama.
Defending champions, South Korea, are the most successful team in the tournament’s history with five titles (1994, 1999, 2009, 2013, 2022), followed by the hosts, India, who have won the trophy three times.
With Sony Pictures Networks India’s comprehensive broadcast plan and expert-led programming, Indian fans will enjoy high-quality coverage of every match, including pre-match build-ups and live commentary across SPN’s sports channels on TV and OTT platform, Sony LIV.
Mr. Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution and International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “Hockey has always held a special place in the hearts of Indian sports fans, and the excitement is intense with the Men’s Asia Cup. At Sony Pictures Networks India, our commitment remains steadfast in bringing world-class sporting action to audiences across India.
“Broadcasting the Asia Cup, a tournament that showcases the continent’s best talent and offers a direct path to the Hockey World Cup, is a proud milestone for us. We are the ‘Home of Hockey in India’ and aim to connect millions of fans to the sport’s biggest stages.”
