07:30: Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s live update of day 13 of PKL season 9.

U Mumba Vs Haryana Steelers

U Mumba will play Haryana Steelers and is coming off a defeat at the hands of Puneri Paltans with only two points separating both sides in PKL 9. Guman Singh once again stood tall scoring seven raid points and getting good support from Jai Bhagwan. The substitutes rose to the occasion when the main players were struggling showing good bench strength.

Haryana Steelers like the U Mumba are coming off a defeat against Dababng Delhi KC (36-38). The Northern side fought very hard against the reigning champions and put in full effort but the opposition was much stronger. Manjeet Dahiya as always scored a super 10 getting back to his best.

Head to Head

Haryana Steelers and U Mumba have faced each other in 11 matches at the Pro Kabaddi League out of which, Haryana Steelers have won 4 whereas U Mumba has come out victorious on 6 occasions with one match ending in a tie.

Key to Success

The defence of U Mumba was extremely poor against Puneri Paltan in the last encounter. Apart from Rinku in the right corner none of the defenders from the starting 7 scored a single tackle point hurting U Mumba. Surendra Singh the captain has looked off-colour and needs to get back to form.

Meetu has been inconsistent in the PKL season 9. Both Manjeet Dahiya and Meetu have not performed well in a single match but have performed well on different occasions. The duo needs to complement each other well and score points regularly. Joginder Narwal and Amir Bastami will now pair with Joginder Narwal who has not performed well and the combination needs to start off well.

Puneri Paltan vs Bengal Warriors

Puneri Paltan after a string of losses in the opening encounters is back to form winning the last two encounters. The team from Pune will face Bengal Warriors in Match 31 of PKL 9. The presence of two Iranians Fazel Athrachali and Mohammed Nabibaksh has helped the defence section get back to form also helping the youngsters to learn from them. Puneri were placed 12th a few days ago but currently are back in the top 6.

Bengal Warriors lost their previous encounter by a 13-point-margin against Jaipur Pink Panthers. Before their previous encounter, Bengal Warriors were on a three-match winning streak with the last one being an off-colour encounter. Maninder Singh could score only two raid points.

Head to Head

Bengal Warriors and Puneri Paltan have faced each other in 16 matches in the Pro Kabaddi League out of which, Bengal Warriors have won 8 whereas Puneri Paltan has come out victorious on 7 occasions with a match ending in a tie.

Key to Success

The trio of Maninder Singh, Shrikanth Jadhav, and Deepak Hooda have not fired simultaneously in a single encounter. Maninder could score only two points in the last match hurting the Bengal team very badly with Jadhav scoring the highest with six raid points against Jaipur Pink Panthers.

The defence for Puneri Paltan has looked rock solid but apart from Aslam Inamdar, the raiders have not scored consistently apart from Mohit Goyat. In the last match, Aslam could only score five raid points but went on to win against Telugu Titans by a single point. Pankaj Mohite needs to raid more to get good game time and experience.

Patna Pirates vs Dabang Delhi

Defending champions Dabang Delhi has been on a rampage in PKL season 9 as well. They are at the top of the points table with five wins in five games while their opponents in last season’s final the Patna Pirates are still looking for their first win.

Patna came close to winning their last game against Tamil Thalaivas but lost the game in the last 30 seconds and therefore they remain winless in the competition. Their defence is struggling this season and the team would hope that it returns to form against Delhi otherwise Patna would have to wait longer for their first win.

Head to head

Dabang Delhi K.C. and Patna Pirates have met in 15 Pro Kabaddi matches. Dabang Delhi K.C. has won seven of these fifteen games, while Patna Pirates has won seven times. 1 match ended in a tie.

Key to success

For Patna to win their defence needs to play well. Sachin and Rohit Gulia are doing their job in raiding so if Patna’s defence has a good day they can challenge Delhi.

For Delhi to win they just need to play the way they have been playing. Their defence and their raiding unit both have played well as a unit up until now.
