07:30: Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s live update of Day 16 of PKL season 9.

Gujarat Giants vs U Mumba

Gujarat Giants are coming off a close victory against Haryana Steelers in the last encounter (42-38) in PKL 9. Rakesh Kumar was once again the star scoring 18 raid points which are almost half the total points scored by Gujarat Giants. Gujarat Giants are on a good run winning their last two encounters and will look to continue the run. Gujarat Giants will play U Mumba in their next PKL 9 game.

U Mumba lost the last encounter against Bengaluru Bulls by a huge margin (32-42). Guman Singh scored a super 10 and was the lone raider taking up the responsibility in raiding. U Mumba has been inconsistent losing two out of the last three matches.

Head to Head

Gujarat Giants and U Mumba have faced each other ten in the Pro Kabaddi League out of which, Gujarat Giants have won 6 whereas U Mumba has come out victorious on three occasions with one match ending in a tie.

Key to Success

Guman Singh after a string of low scores is back to form scoring super 10s. Jai Bhagwan has looked good as the secondary raider but has not been good enough to support Guman Singh. With a young squad U Mumba, the raiders can look to attack rather and score more points rather than relying more on a single raider.

Sourav Gulia scored a high 5 in the last encounter against Haryana Steelers. Rinku Narwal has vast experience playing for multiple franchises but has not lived up to expectations. Shankar Gadai and Arkam Shaikh being youngsters need to step up as the franchise is relying a lot upon them.

Dabang Delhi vs Bengal Warriors

Bengal Warriors lost their last encounter against Puneri Paltan by a two-point margin (25-27) in PKL 9. Maninder Singh could only contribute six raid points hurting Bengal Warriors the most in the low-scoring encounter. Girish Maruti Ernak scored four tackle points and also occupies the top spot in the defence section. Bengal Warriors will play Dabang Delhi in their next PKL 9 game.

Dabang Delhi like Bengal Warriors lost their last encounter with Patna Pirates by four points (33-37). This was Dabang Delhi’s first loss of the season after five successive wins. After spending the majority of the time at the top of the points table the northern side has slipped to the second spot and a win here shall help them regain the top spot.

Head to Head

Bengal Warriors and Dabang Delhi K.C. have faced each other 17times in the Pro Kabaddi League out of which, Bengal Warriors have won seven whereas Dabang Delhi KC has come out victorious on seven occasions with three matches ending in a tie.

Key to Success

Defence is the key for Dabang Delhi KC with Krishan Dhull ruling the tackle points table at the third spot. Along with Krishan, Vishal and Ravi combined to form a great combo but the cover combo needs to stop Maninder Singh who will be a threat. Vishal will be low on confidence since he could not score a single point in the last game but the season has been good so far.

The defence of Girish Ernak and Vaibhav Garje needs to stop either Manjeet or Naveen in order to put up a fight. The Delhi outfit has lost only one encounter in the first six games and defeating them will not be easy. Ernak in particular should make fewer unsuccessful tackles for Bengal to win.
