The head coach of Gujarat Giants pointed out the inefficiency of his raiders.

Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Gujarat Giants by 25-19 in a rather low-scoring affair here on Saturday in match 19 of PKL 9. The pace of the game was slow from the onset of the match. At half time the Panthers had a slender lead of 3 points as they led the game by 12-9 at the end of the first 20 minutes. Rahul Chaudhari emerged as the top raider for the Panthers with 5 raid points. Meanwhile, despite an all-around show by the Giants' defence, they couldn't really come back in the game because Bhavani Rajput turned the game in the end in the favour of the season 1 champions. Here are the post-match discussions.

Gujarat Giants: Coach Ram Mehar Singh

On defence's lapses in the end

Ram Mehar Singh wasn't a happy man with the way the Giants' defence tackled Bhavani Rajput. He came and scored five raid points. Despite controlling Arjun Deswal, Giants couldn't display the same discipline against Rajput, "We needed to tackle Bhavani in the end, but we couldn't do so, there were a couple of attempts for advance tackles on him which failed, if those points had come in our favour, we could have been in the game", Ram Mehar Singh said at the end of the game.

On mistakes made by Sandeep Khandola

Sandeep Khandola couldn't take a single tackle point in defence and Ram Mehar Singh wasn't happy with his performance, "We expected Sandeep to do well for us, but he didn't play well, he made a lot of mistakes".

On changing raiders constantly during the game

Gujarat Giants started the game with HS Rakesh and also brought in the veteran Rohit Kumar but unfortunately for the team both didn't perform so the coach had to change the raiders constantly, "We wanted to have left raiders in the side that's why Chandran Ranjith, Mahendra Rajput, and Lee was sent, had Rakesh performed for us we wouldn't have needed to change our raiders".

Jaipur Pink Panthers: Raider Rahul Chaudhari

Tried to do my best

Rahul Chaudhari by far had the best game of the tournament, "I try to perform to the best of my ability and try to get as many points as possible", Chaudhari said after the game.

It's a team game

Bhavani Rajput also got 5 points in the end and Rahul was all praise for him, "It's a team game, the focus is always that the team wins, individuals don't matter, it was nice to get the win and it was great that Bhavani got those crucial points".

Jaipur Pink Panthers will face Puneri Paltan on Tuesday while the Giants will be up against UP Yoddhas on Wednesday.
