Aslam Inamdar won the match for Puneri Paltan with a crucial point in the last raid.

Telugu Titans lost a close contest to Puneri Paltans by a meagre one point. This loss further dents the former’s position in the points table. The last raid decided the fate of the match as Aslam Inamdar stole the show taking the last raid point with the touch of Monu Goyat. Khel Now Experts Rohit Baliyan, Preetam Chhillar and Mohit Chhillar shared their opinion in the Bol Kabaddi Khel Kabaddi show on Monu Goyat's mistake

The southern side were on verge of winning the match as the last raid was do-or-die for Puneri Paltan. Telugu Titans had four experienced defenders to tackle Aslam. However, out of nowhere, Monu Goyat went for the tackle gifting the opposition a crucial point and the match.

Monu Goyat in the past has scored tackle points when the raiders try for the bonus ahead of him. However, in this situation, the raider had to come in deep to take the point since it was a do-or-die raid. Manjeet Chhillar, the assistant coach, was furious after the costly mistake and was left dejected.

Lack of Game Awareness from Monu Goyat

On this, Preetam Chhillar in the Khel Now show said, “Monu Goyat is an experienced player having played many matches in the PKL. A player with such a calibre should not be making silly mistakes in a crucial situation. Telugu Titans are a very experienced team and Manjeet Chillar has built up the team excellently.”

Pritam further reiterated ”There was no point in going for the tackle when it is the raider who needs to take a point in the do-or-die raid." Siddharth Desai and Vinay stood up with good performance but the form of Ravinder Pahal is still a concern. Manjeet Chillar has put in a lot of effort in building a strong team in both attack and defence. The team needs to put in the same effort on the mat as well.

Rohit Baliyan, another expert who played for U Mumba and Puneri Paltan in the past, said, ”When there are four defenders already in the court then what is the need for Monu Goyat to go for a tackle? If Monu Goyat had to raid in a do-or-die situation then losing a point is understood. Monu had to follow the instructions of the defenders in defence but he didn't and lost the match."

Aslam Inamdar could muster only three points from the entire match after scoring four consecutive super 10s. The youngster was under pressure without form in the dying minutes and could have easily fallen into the trap of defence if the Telugu Titans had waited for a few more seconds.
