The third week of Pro Kabaddi League 2022 will kick-off with a triple header Friday.

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9 is off to a great start. The first two weeks have seen some brilliant displays of skills by prominent players as well as youngsters who are making their debut this season. As the league enters its third week, Dabang Delhi sit at the top of the points table with five wins in as many games. Other sides are catching up.

In this article, we pick the five players to watch out for in the upcoming week.

Rinku Singh

Rinku has scored 12 tackle points in four games for U Mumba and has helped his side in controlling opposition raiders. Mumba will be playing three matches in the upcoming week. They would hope that Rinku can continue the same form and that the team move into the top six by the end of the week. U Mumba are currently ranked ninth on the points table with two wins in four games.

Rakesh S

The Gujarat Giants don't boast of many big names in the raiding department. But Rakesh has stepped up for them big time. He has scored 60 raid points in five games at an average of 12 raid points per game. Gujarat Giants' win over UP Yoddhas in their last game was due to his instrumental effort where he scored 16 raid points in a high-scoring game.

The Giants would bank on him to keep them in the top six. They currently have 14 points from five games and are sixth on the points table.

Narender Kumar

Tamil Thalaivas suffered a huge blow in the first game itself when Pawan Sehrawat got injured. The question was who would step up in his absence. Narender Kumar did. He has scored 46 raid points in five games and has somewhat made up for the absence of Pawan.

The Thalaivas have just one game in the upcoming week, they would eye a win to move up the points table. They are currently in the 10th position with just one win in five matches.

Krishan Dhull

Delhi sit on top of the PKL 9 points table not only because Naveen Kumar is having another stellar season, but also because their relatively less inexperienced defence has also stepped up. Krishan Dhull has guarded Delhi's defence brilliantly with 18 tackle points from five games. If he continues his outstanding run in the upcoming week, it'd be very difficult to displace Dabang Delhi from the top.

Surinder Gill

In the last season when Pardeep Narwal went to UP Yoddhas for a record amount, all the attention was on him. But it was Gill who took the limelight by the end of season 8. He has continued his same form in PKL 9 as he has already picked up 61 raid points in five games and is 2nd on the list behind Naveen Kumar.

But despite his good performances, the Yoddhas are seventh on the points table. They will play just one game in the upcoming week against Tamil Thalaivas. UP Yoddha would hope to get a win under their belt so that they can move into the top six.
