PKL 9: Pardeep Narwal becomes first raider to score 1400 points

The veteran raider achieved the feat while representing UP Yoddhas against Tamil Thalaivas.

Pardeep Narwal of UP Yoddhas has becomes the first player to score 1400 raid points in the Pro Kabaddi League. The raider achieved the magical figure against Tamil Thalaivas in match number 37 of PKL 9. Overall Pardeep Narwal before the match against Tamil Thalaivas had scored 1398 raid points and nine tackle points accounting for 1407 points overall. 

The “Dubki King” started playing in the Pro Kabaddi League in season 2 representing Bengaluru Bulls where he played only six matches and could only score nine raid points. Since then his career graph has been going up, with him scoring points for fun. Pardeep is the master in Dubki an escaping skill often used by the raiders.

Earned his name at Patna Pirates

In season 3, Pardeep Narwal shifted to Patna Pirates where he played a total of 16 matches and scored 116 raid points. Out of the total matches the star player put in ten super 10s.The average raid point was at 7.25. In the next season, he scored 131 raid points with the average raids per match improving from the previous season to 8.19.

After a good progression in seasons 3 and 4, Pardeep had a stellar season 5 scoring a mammoth 369 raid points with the average raid points climbing above 14 points. After representing Patna for most of his career it was time for him to shift to other franchises to explore new challenges. He had won several titles with Patna Pirates since season 3.

Pardeep was the highest-bought player at the auctions at that time and was sold to UP Yoddhas in season 8. The star raider could only score 188 raid points after performing so well in the previous seasons. Many defenders started to read his game well which led to his downfall. But Pardeep did not give up and has now come back stronger after being again brought back UP Yoddhas in season 9.

Pardeep Narwal started the 2022 season representing Haryana at the Senior Nationals and put up a good show. Pardeep has now again come back fit as he was a few seasons ago and as PKL season 9 goes by we might again witness the “Dubki King” back to his usual best.
