PKL 9 Day 24 Live Updates: UP Yoddhas Vs Puneri Paltan
07:30 PM: Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s live update of Day 24 of PKL season 9.
Patna Pirates vs U Mumba
U Mumba are on a roll in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9. They are currently third on the points table, having won three matches on the trot. The last of those wins came against Telugu Titans (40-37) in a closely fought encounter. Ashish scored 12 raid points in the absence of Guman Singh and is turning out to be a good pick by the U Mumba franchise. The defence as always led by Surinder Singh has put up a good show.
On the other hand, Patna Pirates after a string of losses in the Bengaluru leg are now on a four-match unbeaten run. They have won three and tied one match. The transformation from the first leg has been phenomenal and Sachin has been the star. Patna Pirates beat Gujarat Giants (34-28) in their last encounter.
Head-to-Head
U Mumba and Patna Pirates have faced each other in 16 matches at the Pro Kabaddi League. Patna Pirates have won six of those encounters. Whereas, U Mumba have come out victorious on nine occasions with one match ending in a tie.
Player to watch
Ashish from U Mumba is slowly starting to perform at his peak after a slow start to the season. In the absence of Guman Singh, the youngster put in a Super 10 against Telugu Titans and was impressive in the previous encounter too. With the presence of Jai Bhagwan, both the raiders will eye consistency.
For Patna Pirates, Sachin did not have a good start to PKL season 9. His scoring at a slow pace was also a reason for Patna Pirates’ poor form at the start. But since the start of the Pune leg, the star raider has got his mojo back and has scored multiple super 10s. He has also returned with very few empty raids as he had done in the past.
Dabang Delhi KC vs Jaipur Pink Panthers
Dabang Delhi KC and Jaipur Pink Panthers are going through a bad phase in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9. The reigning champions have lost their fifth successive encounter. The northern side lost their last encounter to Puneri Paltan despite Naveen Express scoring his ninth Super 10. But that wasn’t enough for Dabang Delhi to stop their losing run.
Their opponents Jaipur Pink Panthers are going through the same phase losing three successive encounters. Jaipur were second in the points table at one stage, but are now slowly sliding down the points table which might hurt their playoff chances. Arjun Deshwal as usual is dominating the raiding department, but with little support.
Head-to-Head
Dabang Delhi KC and Jaipur Pink Panthers have faced each other 18 times in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Delhi have won seven times, while Jaipur came out victorious on nine occasions. Two matches ended in a tie.
Player to watch
Jaipur Pink Panthers raider V Ajith Kumar has been a disappointment this season. However, this is a good opportunity for Ajith to get back his confidence and form against Dabang Delhi, whose defence who have leaked points consistently. This will help Arjun Deshwal to play freely without much pressure.
For Dabang Delhi, Ashu Malik has been the most improved raider and has replaced Manjeet from the secondary raider’s spot. The youngster had a slow start to the season but in the past week has scored points equivalent to Naveen Kumar. Ashu needs to continue his form without putting much pressure on Naveen.
Puneri Paltan vs UP Yoddhas
UP Yoddhas will take on Puneri Paltan in match 58 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9 on November 4, Friday. It promises to be an exciting contest between Yoddhas raiders and Paltan’s defence.
Puneri Paltan have suddenly found their rhythm on home turf and are undefeated in their last six matches. In their last game, they beat the defending champions Dabang Delhi by 43-38 margin and currently sit second on the PKL 9 points table.
While the Yoddhas have a mixed last five matches. They have won three and lost two but the good thing is that they are coming in with a good victory against Telugu Titans whom they beat 43-24. It promises to be a great contest.
Head-to-Head
UP Yoddhas and Puneri Paltan have clashed in eight matches in the PKL. The Yoddhas lead the head-to-head contest with eight wins, while the Paltans have won three.
Player to watch
Pardeep Narwal is back to his best. He is definitely the player to watch out for the Yoddhas. Pardeep is currently placed ninth in the raiders list with 77 raid points from eight games. He is looking fitter and is more active on the mat. So UP Yoddhas will bank on him against Puneri Paltan.
For the Paltans Fazel Atrachali will be key. Unlike last season he is in fine form this season with 22 tackle points from seven games. Surinder Gill and Pardeep both would be wary of him.
