PKL 9: Top five players to watch out for in gameweek 7
These players were in excellent form last week and will want to continue that form.
The tables have turned in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9 as the tournament heads into gameweek 7. Dabang Delhi KC who was top of the table not a while long ago, are now 10th on the points table. Bengaluru Bulls, on the other hand, are on a dream run as they occupy the top position in the table.
As the tournament heads into another new week, let us take a look at five players to watch out for in PKL 9 gameweek 7.
Manjeet (Haryana Steelers)
Haryana Steelers are at the bottom half of the table. That is largely due to their raiders not performing consistently. If Meetu Sharma turned up one day then Manjeet struggled and vice-versa. But in the last few games, Manjeet seems to have found his rhythm back and is currently amongst the top 10 raiders.
He has scored 111 raid points in 14 games until now. The Steelers would hope that their lead raider can continue the same form as they try to break into the playoffs.
Siddharth Desai (Telugu Titans)
Telugu Titans are going through another horrible season. They are last on the points table and have won just one game. In spite of all this gloom, there is one bright spotlight and that is the return of Siddharth Desai to form. He might have a quiet start, but has picked up pace now and has scored 110 raid points in 13 games. Titans may not have a chance to qualify for the playoffs, but Siddharth definitely has a lot to prove.
Guman Singh (U Mumba)
U Mumba have maintained their position in the top six despite injuries to two of their main players. First, it was Guman Singh and then Surinder Singh. But now Guman has returned to the side and looks in fine touch despite playing with a headgear. He has scored 91 raid points in 11 games. U Mumba would hope that he can remain injury free and can help his team qualify for the playoffs.
Girish Ernak (Bengal Warriors)
Bengal Warriors are not much behind in the race for playoffs because Girish has been their backbone in defence. In 12 games, he has scored 37 tackle points and has helped the Warriors stay in the hunt for the playoffs. If the Warriors are looking to get an entry into the top six, Girish's form in the upcoming week will be crucial.
Jaideep Dahiya (Haryana Steelers)
Jaideep Dahiya had a slow start to the tournament. But now he has found his groove. Last week he did a couple of super tackles which confirmed his return to form. He has scored 41 tackle points in 14 games. The Steelers would hope that he can continue to put pressure on opposition raiders in the upcoming week.
