Top five raiders with most Super Raids in PKL Season 9

After the conclusion of the league, these players would be looking for a spot in the Indian team for Asian Games.
When a player scores three or more points then it is considered a super raid. Vikas Kandola, Pardeep Narwal, and Ajinkya Pawar are a few names which come to everyone’s mind with the super raids they have put in in the Pro Kabaddi League PKL Season 9. Ajinkya Pawar in particular scored six points in a single raid against Telugu Titans which proved to be vital for Tamil Thalaivas' victory. Telugu Titans from the verge of victory couldn't score even a single point from the match due to the super raid.
Let’s discuss the top five players with the most super raids in PKL Season 9:
5. Shrikant Jadhav
Shrikant Jadhav in PKL season 9 has scored six super raids and has played the supporting role of Maninder Singh on most occasions. In the fag end of the league stages Shrikant Jadhav scored more points than Maninder but wasn’t enough to get through to the playoffs. Playing as the secondary raider, Jadhav has scored 129 points in 21 matches playing his role to perfection.
4. Arjun Deshwal
The star raider from Jaipur Pink Panthers has put in seven super raids. He has been instrumental in the raiding department for Jaipur Pink Panthers. Arjun Deshwal has scored 296 raid points in 24 matches and is the highest raid points scorer in the league along with winning the “Most Valuable Player” award. At the start of the Pune leg, Arjun Deshwal was injured but still went on to play and score points after being substituted in the second half.
3. Pardeep Narwal
The “Dubki” king Pardeep Narwal took over the captaincy of UP Yoddhas from Nitesh Kumar. One of the best raids of PKL season 9, was when he scores five raid points in a single raid against Gujarat Giants against his former coach Ram Mehar Singh. The star raider is also the first player to cross the 1400 raid points mark. The raider overall has scored nine super raids with most of them coming after taking over the captaincy and the primary raider’s role.
2. Bharat
The tall lanky raider from Bengaluru Bulls had taken over from Vikas Kandola as the primary raider and has fulfilled the expectations of coach Randhir Singh Sherawat. Bharat has not played for any state or university teams but was scouted by the Bengaluru coach. The coach was impressed by his performance which made him sign Bharat in the PKL and retain him in season 9 as well. Bharat has scored eleven super raids and was the second-highest raid points scorer with 279 raid points.
1. Maninder Singh
Maninder has single-handedly taken Bengal Warriors to victory scoring 15 plus raid points with few points coming from super raids. In particular, Maninder Singh scored more points in the second half compared to the first half handling pressure well. The 32-year-old has scored eleven super raids and has scored 238 raid points overall in season 9. He did not get enough support from either the raiding or defence which was the sole reason for Bengal not qualifying for the playoffs.
