Women's National Kabaddi player accuses coach of sexual assault, blackmail

A 27-year-old women's Kabaddi player has accused her coach of sexually assaulting and blackmailing her. The coach has also been involved in extorting money from the player. The police have filed an FIR at the Baba Haridas Nagar station last week, as reported by the Times of India.
The athlete has been playing kabaddi for more than a decade starting in 2012. It was in the accused's academy where both the parties had met first. What followed were a series of instances involving coercion and extortion. There only senior Kabaddi player alleges of facing the sexual assaults.
The Kabaddi player got married recently in 2021, and the coach is still blackmailing and threatening her of leaking private photos. Furthermore, the player also claimed that she transferred Rs 43.5 lakh into the account of the coach.
A police officer involved in the case was quoted saying that the athlete was pushed into a sexual relationship with the coach back in 2015, without her consent.
