Trophy unveiled in Indore
The Women's Premier League league trophy was unveiled in Indore and the anthem was also launched. Popular actor Govinda has been named the brand ambassador of the league. The chief executive officer of the league, Pradeep Kumar Nehra, and the captains of all eight teams were present on the occasion of the trophy unveiling.
"The Women's Kabaddi League promotes women's power. Girls from different cities and villages have been selected for this tournament. They have been fully prepared for the event. These girls are from schools, and colleges and have played matches at the state level," Pradeep Kumar Nehra said on the occasion.
Talking about selecting Dubai as the venue, he added, "Dubai already has a lot of high-profile games. Kabaddi is very popular in India and is now a part of the Commonwealth Games. It is a very interesting sport for everyone, no matter what age and gender they are."
It is worth noting that the Men's Kabaddi League has already been organised for nine seasons and has been quite popular. That is probably the reason that WKL 2023, which is expected to give a big boost to women's kabaddi will be launched.
