Players will be selected from the camp which was organised in Bangalore.

The 19th Asian Games are scheduled to take place in China starting from September 23rd, and preparations are underway for the kabaddi teams participating. As most teams have concluded their training camps, the final team selections are being determined based on these preparations. The Indian national kabaddi team conducted their camp in Bangalore, which saw the participation of both seasoned and young players. Numerous players, both experienced and emerging, who showcased commendable performances in the Pro Kabaddi League, were part of this camp, and the final team composition will be influenced by their performances. A preliminary group of 24 players was chosen for the camp, though not all may secure spots in the ultimate lineup.

Now, let’s delve into the prospective Indian kabaddi team for the Asian Games in different departments:

Raiders:

1. Pardeep Narwal: Renowned raider Pardeep Narwal, with his extensive experience and the need for strong performers in significant tournaments, could potentially be included in the Asian Games roster.

2. Pawan Sehrawat: Pawan Sehrawat possesses the capability to single-handedly win matches, a trait he recently demonstrated. His remarkable showing in the Asian Kabaddi Championship, where he played a pivotal role in securing the gold medal, enhances his prospects.

3. Naveen Kumar: Young talent Naveen Kumar has rapidly made a name for himself as a key player. His consistent performances in international matches and the Pro Kabaddi League make him a robust contender for the Asian Games squad.

4. Aslam Inamdar: Aslam Inamdar, an all-rounder affiliated with Puneri Paltan, left a significant impact during the Asian Kabaddi Championship. His contributions could secure him a spot in the final team.

5. Mohit Goyat: Alongside Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat’s raiding skills were noteworthy. He might be considered a backup option for the squad.

All-Rounders:

1. Deepak Hooda: Despite a somewhat less impressive showing in the recent PKL season, Deepak Hooda’s value as a player becomes more pronounced on the international stage. His leadership experience and participation in major tournaments contribute to his potential selection.

Defenders:

1. Nitesh Kumar (Right Corner): Nitesh Kumar displayed an excellent performance during the Asian Kabaddi Championship. His expertise as a skilled defender could prove crucial for the Asian Games.

2. Vishal Bhardwaj (Left Corner): Young talent Vishal Bhardwaj boasts versatile skills that could excel in the left corner position.

3. Pravesh Bhainswal (Left Cover): Pravesh Bhainswal, a standout defender from the Pune franchise, might be chosen as a left-cover defender.

4. Saurabh Nandal (Right Corner): Saurabh Nandal’s speed sets him apart and makes him an effective right-corner defender.

5. Sunil Kumar (Left Cover): Sunil Kumar’s performance as the captain of the Jaipur Pink Panthers and his skills as a left-cover defender make him a promising candidate.

6. Abinesh Nadarajan (Right Cover): Abinish Nadarajan’s performances for Puneri Paltan and his abilities as a right cover defender render him a strong option.

Standby:

Shubham Shinde and Arjun Deshwal are on standby for the squad.
